The following is brought to you by our resident "Da U" advisor, Matt Leininger.
After completing their 2nd season under the guidance of Randy Shannon the U looks to continue their growth back to national prominence. 2 moves this offseason that I think will help out this team. #1 - Telling Robert Marve to leave - the kid was a baby and wanted things handed to him ala Larry Coker's way. #2 - Not pursuing the rolling drama that became Bryce Brown. The kid is talented but you don't win football games by yourself. This year's team will be led by Miami grown talents in key posistions.
Jacory Harris takes over at QB - and many believed that he was the better of the two QB's last year. Our strength will again be in the backfield as Graig Cooper and Javarris "Baby J" James will get the bulk of the careers. Keep an eye on 2 newbies this year in Mike James and Lamar Miller. Our receivers are still young but since they all played a lot as Freshmen they should only improve. O Line is the most veteran group they have had in the past 5 years and played well most of last season. New offensive coordinator Mark Whipple will add some excitement to this side that Patrick Nix just couldn't.
Defensively - they should be real solid. Marcus Forston will anchor the D Line with rush ends Marcus Robinson and Adewale Ojomo being possibly the quickest D Ends in football. Our LB's will be lead by Colin McCarthy & Sean Spence (who will be the best LB to play at Miami when he's done)- but keep an eye on Arthur Brown to sneak in and get some action this year. He was reserved last year to special teams despite being a 5 star recruit out of Kansas but impressed in the spring. We will start a veteran safety in Randy Phillips and a Sean Taylor clone in Vaughn Telemaque (lets just hope he can be as good as Taylor)!!!! Our CB position is the most hotly contested right now. We started 4 guys last year in multiple games and all 4 are back with the addition of 2 4star recruits. So as the saying goes, "a little competition never hurt anyone"
Realistic season 8-3 and in the Peach Bowl
Real solid season - 9-2 and in a BCS Bowl
Real Real good season 12-0 and National Champs.
